Jim began learning how to call in the fall of 1968. He called his first dance on September 19, 1970. Over the years, he has been a club caller and /or teacher for 12 clubs.
He calls from beginners level through A-2, and presently has an A-2 group that meets every Wednesday night.
Jim is an active member of the Connecticut Square Dance Callers and Teachers Association, currently serving as Treasurer. He is also the current chairman of NECCA, and a delegate to CO-OP. He is now serving as Vice Chairman of the 2012-2013 New England Square and Round Dance Convention being held in Hartford, CT April 27, 28, and 29, 2012 and April 26, 27 and 28, 2013.
On a personal note, Jim is retired from the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles, and spends most of the summer camping at Salem Farms Campground in Salem, Ct. He has 3 children, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Jim’s philosophy to all dancers: “No matter what level you dance, have fun. That’s what this activity is all about.”
