Jim's Bio

Jim began learning how to call in the fall of 1968. He called his first dance on September 19, 1970. Over the years, he has been a club caller and /or teacher for 12 clubs.

He calls from beginners level through A-2, and presently has an A-2 group that meets every Wednesday night.

Jim is an active member of the Connecticut Square Dance Callers and Teachers Association, serving as its President in 2004 and 2005. He is now the Treasurer. He is also the vice chairman of the New England Square and Round Dance Convention in Hartford CT in 2012-13. He is an associate member of CALLERLAB, and a member of NECCA, serving Vice Chairman

On a personal note, Jim and his wife Alice, were married on February 25, 1967; they have 3 daughters, Stacie, Tammy and Kim, and 11 Grandchildren, and 1 Great Grandson

Jim has retired for the State of Connecticut DMV, and Alice has retired from the East Hartford Public Library

Jim’s philosophy to all dancers: “No matter what level you dance, have fun. That’s what this activity is all about.”
